Viracoacha

                                  28         ***
An orally transmitted tradition tells of how flying men landed and started fires.  These legends are confirmed by statues of flying creatures with huge starring eyes.  There is similarity of the statues of Easter Island to the pyramid fields of Guatemala, Mexico, and Egypt.

Once again we look at the mythology of the gods.  According to tradition Viracoacha created the world when it was still dark and had no sun; he sculpted a race of giants from stone; and when they displeased him, he sank them in a deep flood.  Then he caused the sun and moon to rise above Lake Titicaca, so that there was light on earth.

He then shaped clay figures of men, women and animals at Tiahuanaco, and then he breathed life into them. He instructed these creatures of his own creation, in the arts, language and customs of the region and then flew them to different continents so they could settle them.

The god Viracoacha with two assistants later traveled the world to check on how his instructions were being followed.  Dressed as an old man with a white beard, Viracocha traveled throughout the Andes and along the coast, he was often treated poorly.

At one point he was so angered that he set fire to a cliff that continued to burn setting the whole country on fire.  The people begged for his forgiveness and he stopped the burning with a gesture of his hand!

He continued his travels giving wisdom and advice, many temples were built for him.  He departed from the province of Mantra riding over the waves with a promise to return.

Spanish Conquistadors encountered the legends of Viracocha everywhere they went.  They had never heard of giant white men who came from the sky.  They then learned of a race of the” sons of the sun” who instructed man in the arts and gave them sacred knowledge and then left promising to return one day.

Ruins in the jungles of Guatemala and Yucatan can be compared with the pyramids of Egypt. The ground area of the pyramid of Cholula, sixty miles south of Mexico City, is larger than that of the pyramid of Cheops.  The pyramid field of Teotihuacan, twenty five miles north of Mexico City, covers an area of eight square miles., the structures are aligned with certain stars.

The Mayans built pyramids, not because they needed them, or even wanted them, they did so because the gods wanted them.  They were given specific instructions from the Mayan calender decreed that a fix number of steps needed to be completed every fifty-two years.

The pyramids and structures of Chichen Itza, Tikal, Copan and Palenque were built according to the Mayan calender. Every stone is related to the calender and every completed building conforms to predetermined astronomical specifications..

Quite interesting around 600AD, the entire Mayan nation deserted these long established very comfortable locations with all the comforts which were much advanced for their time. The jungles over grew the pyramid grounds and all the temples and structures and the people never returned.  Which begs to question, WHY?

There have been many theories over the years, none of which are supported by any true facts, there wasn't a change in the climate or any military operations known to history, they moved exactly two hundred and twenty miles to the north.

One thought on this very strange occurrence is that at some point the god's (space travelers) visited the Mayans. The Mayans had a very specific security of their mathematical knowledge, astronomical traditions and the calender which is center to this knowledge.

This sacred knowledge was guarded by the priests, because the gods had promised to return one day!  They created a new religion called Kukulan, the feathered serpent.

According to the priests the gods would return when the structures have been built to the letter of the calendar! When the buildings are completed there was to be a year of rejoicing, the god Kulkulan would return and take possession of the buildings, Temples and Pyramids and live amongst mankind.

The buildings were completed, a year long celebration took place, but the god Kulkulan didn't return, neither did the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl!

The Mayan calender is dated to 3111BCE, which is within a few hundred years of the beginning of the Egyptian culture. The Mayan calender ends December 21, 2012.
